Position overview
AB Design Group is seeking an Entry-Level Architectural Drafter to support the production of high-quality construction documents for residential builder clients. This in-office position is ideal for a motivated individual who is eager to learn drafting standards, gain hands-on experience in plan development, and grow within a collaborative team environment.
Key responsibilities
Assist in developing accurate Construction Documents for single-family and multi-family residential projects.
Implement redlines and updates from senior team members, architects, and engineers with close attention to detail.
Help incorporate consultant drawings and revisions (Structural, MEP, Truss) into coordinated plan sets.
Support quality control efforts by reviewing drawings for accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
Maintain organized digital files, drawing templates, and plan standards to ensure efficient workflow.
Update and prepare drawings for permit submissions and respond to comments under supervision.
Communicate progress and task updates clearly to senior staff and project leads.
Qualifications
0–2 years of architectural drafting experience (internship or related coursework experience acceptable).
Familiarity with residential construction and an interest in learning builder-series plan production.
Associate degree or technical certification in Architecture, Drafting, or a related field (preferred).
Basic knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD or similar) required; Revit experience a plus.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Understanding of or willingness to learn the Florida Building Code and local construction standards.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
Eagerness to learn from senior team members and contribute to a collaborative production environment.
